Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) offers a method for collecting and analyzing data on structures. This innovative approach holds the promise of identifying and preventing structural impairment by the IoT, thereby enhancing the safety and excellence of concrete and steel constructions. In older structures, implementing temperature, humidity, breakage sensors, or other monitoring systems serves to continuously oversee the structure's condition. Moreover, the utilization of intelligent systems allows for the automatic regulation of various equipment within the building, as well as the sharing of acquired information with data analysis systems and consumers via the IoT. The automatic collection of pertinent data facilitates the detection of structural impairment and heightens the security of the building. This cutting-edge technology can dynamically gather real-time structural data and employ intelligent algorithms to pinpoint structural damage. Wireless sensor networks leverage sensors and the IoT to detect damage in concrete and steel structures, collecting the necessary data and employing intelligent algorithms to identify damage in such structures. These networks can dynamically amass real-time structural data and utilize intelligent algorithms to detect damage within structures. IoT sensors can be deployed to monitor intricate structures continually, promptly notifying relevant engineers and experts in the event of damage. The present paper comprehensively studies the damage detection process in concrete and steel structures using the Internet of Things.
